O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance. ~Psalm 16:5,6.

Thanks to Susan!
My granddaughters all have barefoot sandals now, thanks to Susan, who saw Joan's sandals and gave us a huge bag filled with DMC floss. Hayley, Abbey, and Madyson chose colors and Joan and I started crocheting the sandals last week. I have three very happy little girls!
1 pk chicken breasts (from Piggly Wiggly)
1 pk homemade sausage (from a friend)
6 tomatoes, cut in large chunks (from the garden)
2 onions, sliced (from the garden)
16 okra pods, sliced thinly (from the garden)
2 bell peppers, chopped (from the garden)
4 bay leaves
2 tsp. thyme leaves
1/4 c. olive oil
3 c. water
Place in slow cooker and cook on "High" for several hours. Serve with rice.
For one blissful week we are enjoying all the grandchildren and most of our children at our house. Meals together, swimming, boating, reading, playing, watching movies, sitting on the porch and talking and enjoying seeing even more relatives. The full moon last night was beautiful, but going outside to the field to watch it rise and listening to the comments and what if's ( "What if we could build a ladder up to the moon and climb up and touch the moon..." ) from the granddaughters made it memorable.
(I think we must read Many Moons by James Thurber before the week is up!)
Wife to Steve, mom to 7, step-mom to 2, grandmother to 3 grand-daughters and one grandson. Now in Alabama, but before Steve retired from the Marine Corps we were all over the USA. I enjoy reading, knitting and other forms of needlework, and recently started spinning yarn.
